The Nock Mountains biosphere reserve comprises natural as well as cultural landscapes. Here, people live in close communion with nature. On a hiking trip through the reserve, visitors may hope to encounter cute groundhogs, shy deer or even rare mountain cocks.

If you enjoy doing sports during your holidays, you will feel right at home at Almdorf Seinerzeit. The Falkert, a mountain with an impressive height of 2308 meters, is only minutes away. There are different hiking trails suitable for any level of experience, mountain cableways and possibilities for climbing and bouldering.

Winter Sports

The mountain’s calling

When it gets chilly and white outside, some prefer to stay indoors. However, if you are a fan of winter sports, the Nock Mountains region provides you with some of Carinthia’s most beautiful skiing areas.

Besides the downhill runs there is also the “Nockberge Trail”, a ski trek focused on wellness and culinary delights, snow shoe hikes, horse sled rides and many other winterly activities.

Around Almdorf Seinerzeit there are several skiing areas:

  • You can reach Falkert Mountain, a perfect skiing area for kids and beginners in 6 minutes by car.
  • You can reach the skiing world cup site Bad Kleinkirchheim in only 15 minutes by car. Here, you can find perfect slopes for just about anyone.
  • You can reach Turracher Höhe in 20 minutes by car. This is the region’s highest situated skiing area and it offers a wide variety of ski runs as well as fun slopes and a fun park.


Family Fun

A family vacation with kids is never boring at Almdorf Seinerzeit. In the town of Bad Kleinkirchheim and the surrounding Nock Mountains, there are many different destinations that your little ones will love.

For instance, you can visit the neighbouring “Heidi Alm” and relive the stories about the world-famous Swiss mountain girl Heidi in a whimsical adventure park. At the alpine zoo in Feld am See, you can marvel at wildlife and pet friendly farm animals. The reptilian zoo Nockalm lets you experience the fascinating world of snakes and reptiles.

Going with the flow

The numerous lakes and rivers of Carinthia are just as stunning as the mountainside. The closest lake is Millstätter See, but the famous Wörthersee is not far either.

In Bad Kleinkirchheim, there are also several thermal baths and spas if you want to take a break from everyday life.
